Remembering Catherine Howard
Founder, Catherine Howard 1991-2026
Catherine Howard, as the Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation of E.A.G.L.E.S., embarked on her mission while serving in the Dominican Republic in 2019. Her journey was shaped by a diverse background that included both banking and teaching experiences in the United States. Catherine’s commitment extended beyond borders as she volunteered on three short-term mission trips to El Salvador, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.
After dedicating three years to teaching mathematics in the States, Catherine transitioned to the mission field, where she began teaching English at local churches. It was during this time that she encountered an amazing group of out-of-school children from an impoverished community. Their desire to learn ignited a passion within Catherine, leading her to establish a non-profit organization with a clear mission: to help these students and the millions of other out-of-school children and adolescents.
And so, in August 2019, the Foundation of Education Art God Love Enrichment Service (E.A.G.L.E.S.) was born. Its purpose? To represent God’s Love through Education, Art, Enrichment, and Service. With unwavering dedication, the foundation strives to ensure that every out-of-school child experiences the transformative milestone of their First Day of School.

Currently, Christina is a Programs Manager at Grow America and served on the board of various local nonprofit organizations including Mental Health Association of Delaware, Delaware Real Estate Women, and PAWS for People. She is also current Vice-President at River Road Swim Club.

Liz Freburger serves as Vice President of the Foundation of E.A.G.L.E.S. Liz graduated from Goldey Beacom College in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Currently, Liz is the Director of Accounting for a property management company, Fusco Management. And she has served on various committees at St. Philip's Lutheran Church which includes the Christian Education committee.

Mary Louk is the Director of Credit at Grow America, where she oversees credit strategy and risk management for all business lending programs, including SBA 7(a) loans. She plays a key role in shaping lending practices that expand access to capital for small and underserved businesses.

Mary previously founded a non profit to provide struggling pet owners with access to pet food and vet care and served as the board president for her local humane society for 7 years. She resides in Youngstown Ohio and is married with one daughter and one grandson.
Mary earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Management and her Master of Business Administration from Youngstown State University in Ohio.

high school science through Teach for America in Charlotte, North Carolina. Currently, Marilyn
is an Academic Dean at a K-8 school in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
