Our Story

According to the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), approximately 64 million children fall within the primary school age range (approximately 6 to 11 years), while 61 million adolescents are of lower secondary school age (12 to 14 years). Additionally, there are 138 million youth in the upper secondary age group (15 to 17 years) who are currently out of school. These staggering numbers highlight the urgent need for accessible and quality education worldwide.

In 2018, while serving as a teacher in the Dominican Republic, Founder and Executive Director Catherine Howard encountered a small group of girls attending a local church who fit into this category. These children possessed a strong desire to learn but faced barriers to formal education due to a lack of basic fundamental skills.

Recognizing this critical issue, the Foundation of E.A.G.L.E.S. was established as a solution. Through a holistic approach encompassing Education, Art, God, Love, Enrichment, and Service, the foundation aims to break the cycle of educational deprivation in impoverished communities. Since August 2019, the Foundation of E.A.G.L.E.S. has successfully educated over 30 students through its School Readiness Program, thanks to the unwavering support of donors and partners.

Each year, we embrace the immense responsibility of preparing and equipping our students to be catalysts for positive change within their families and communities. We firmly believe that every child deserves the opportunity for a first day of school—a transformative moment that opens doors to knowledge, growth, and hope.
